Juventude, drogas e a desconstrução de paradigmas estabelecidos / Youth, drugs and the deconstruction of established paradigms

A palavra juventude abrange inúmeras conceituações, definições e indefinições que suscitam um debate acerca do próprio conceito e, principalmente, dos sujeitos inseridos nessa categoria. Ao se incluir a temática do uso de drogas na discussão das juventudes, particularmente dos jovens pobres, amplia-se o campo para estigmatizações, ambiguidades, simplificações e equívocos, associando-se, de forma preconceituosa, drogas e pobreza, sem se buscar a compreensão devida dos sujeitos que fazem parte desse panorama. Apresentam-se aqui dados de duas pesquisas
de mestrado filiadas teórico-metodologicamente à Terapia Ocupacional Social e apoiadas pelas contribuições da etnografia e da etnometodologia. Ambas foram realizadas com jovens pobres de uma cidade de médio porte do interior do estado de São Paulo, as quais objetivaram uma maior aproximação e apreensão do universo desses jovens e as relações estabelecidas com e por meio das drogas em seu cotidiano. As pesquisas apontaram que a inserção das drogas na vida deles se dá de maneira diversa daquela assumida pelo senso comum, ou seja, afigura-se, apenas, como mais um dos muitos fatores de vulnerabilização a que estão expostos em um cotidiano de desigualdade social. Com isso, consideramos que, a fim de que se possa de fato propor ações profissionais em terapia ocupacional que se façam efetivas frente às temáticas droga e juventude pobre e suas interrelações, é preciso que se busque maior aproximação com o universo dos jovens e que se compreenda, a partir do olhar deles, as faces e as interfaces dessas temáticas numa sociedade pautada pela desigualdade socioeconômica.
