Força de preensão palmar e sua relação com parâmetros antropométricos/Handgrip strength and its relation with anthropometric parameters

Introdução: A força de preensão palmar (FPP) está relacionada às AVDs e, quando diminuída, pode gerar limitações funcionais importantes. Sua medida permite estimar o estado geral de força e representa um indicativo de saúde. Objetivos: Analisar a correlação entre FPP e dados antropométricos em indivíduos de ambos os sexos. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo correlacional com 100 indivíduos saudáveis, faixa etária entre 17 e 40 anos, sendo 50 homens com idade média de 28,0 anos (±7,0) e 50 mulheres com idade média de 23 anos (±4,2). Foram avaliadas FPP e perimetria de antebraço, punho e mão. As análises estatísticas foram obtidas mediante utilização de médias, desvio padrão e Teste de Correlação de Pearson. Resultados: Quando comparados às mulheres, os homens apresentaram valores médios de FPP superiores em ambos os lados. Nos homens, 49,0 kgf (±8,3) à direita e 46,0 kgf (±8,5) à esquerda; nas mulheres, 26,0 kgf (±5,4) à direita e 24,0 kgf (±5,3) à esquerda. Discussão: A perimetria da mão foi o único dado antropométrico que apresentou correlação significativa com a FPP em ambos os gêneros. As perimetrias de antebraço e punho tiveram significância somente nos homens, com ligeira diferença entre os lados, prevalecendo o direito em relação ao contralateral. Já em mulheres, embora não tenha sido constatada correlação significativa com a FPP, notou-se discrepância de força em relação à lateralidade, com predomínio de FPP na direita. Conclusão: Conclui-se então que existe correlação entre FPP e antropometria, e que lateralidade e gênero são fatores que influenciam a FPP.
