RELATO DA EXPERIÊNCIA DE APRIMORANDAS DO PROGRAMA DE TERAPIA OCUPACIONAL EM SAÚDE MENTAL NUMA ENFERMARIA DE PEDIATRIA
Abstract
A hospitalização prolongada de crianças provoca uma interrupção e um
afastamento das suas atividades cotidianas, e causa um impacto negativo em
suas vidas e de seus familiares, que precisam acompanhá-las na enfermaria. As
crianças ficam impossibilitadas de brincar e continuar seu desenvolvimento global.
A atuação da terapia ocupacional no âmbito hospitalar vem sendo cada vez mais
reconhecida, pelo fato de que esta profissão lida com a atividade humana, visando
a promoção de saúde e a manutenção da qualidade de vida, durante o período de
hospitalização. O presente artigo busca discutir a experiência de aprimorandas
do Programa Terapia Ocupacional em Saúde Mental: reabilitação infanto-juvenil
na enfermaria de pediatria do Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina/
Unesp/Botucatu/SP/Brasil. A intervenção foi tanto grupal como individual, e teve
como meta atender às demandas/necessidades das crianças e acompanhantes.
Os seus resultados foram: a intervenção proporcionou um espaço de acolhimento
e de escuta dos acompanhantes, favoreceu a identificação de sentimentos, a
troca de experiências, a possibilidade de cuidarem de si e a produção coletiva.
As crianças tiveram a possibilidade de se relacionarem, brincarem e serem
estimuladas no seu desenvolvimento global. Foi possível concluir que os
acompanhantes necessitam de uma maior atenção na enfermaria, e que a terapia
ocupacional, por ser uma profissão que engloba, na sua formação, conhecimentos
de diversas áreas, pode contribuir muito com o processo de humanização e
valorização da vida humana nesta enfermaria e em outros contextos hospitalares.
