A LESÃO MEDULAR E SUAS SEQÜELAS DE ACORDO COM O MODELO DE OCUPAÇÃO HUMANA
Abstract
O indivíduo acometido por uma lesão medular experimenta profundas modificações físicas como paralisia de grupos musculares, perdas sensitivas, alterações autonômicas, sexuais e outras. Depara-se com uma nova realidade de limitações e possui o desafio de enfrentar a vida e lidar com o corpo modificado. O Modelo de Ocupação Humana (MOH) aponta a ocupação humana como paradigma universal da terapia ocupacional e explora os aspectos envolvidos no desenvolvimento ocupacional normal e patológico do indivíduo. Participaram da pesquisa 26 pessoas da clínica de lesão medular do Centro de Reabilitação e Readaptação Dr. Henrique Santillo no período de dezembro de 2005 a abril de 2006 que passaram pelo setor de terapia ocupacional. Foram explorados aspectos relacionados às modificações na vida ocupacional do indivíduo com os objetivos de perceber o impacto ocupacional trazido pela lesão medular sobre a vida dos participantes. Verificou-se que após a lesão medular houve modificações ocupacionais de extensões variáveis na população estudada. Os resultados são interpretados e organizados de acordo com os postulados do MOH que foi considerado aplicável a esta clientela.Downloads
