Introdução: O retorno ao trabalho é um processo complexo e há dificuldades e desafios aos trabalhadores acometidos por LER/DORT. Objetivo: Investigar as vivências durante o processo de retorno ao trabalho de sujeitos acometidos por LER/DORT. Método: Estudo exploratório, descritivo, retrospectivo e com resultados qualitativos. Teve duas etapas: (1) análise documental de prontuários abertos do CEREST, Santos-SP, período de julho de 2014 a julho de 2015. Seleção de prontuários de sujeitos com diagnóstico clínico de LER/DORT.(2) Seleção de sujeitos que vivenciaram o processo de retorno ao trabalho, utilização de roteiro pré-elaborado para a realização de entrevistas individuais semiestruturadas. As entrevistas foram gravadas e transcritas na íntegra para análise de conteúdo por categorias temáticas. Resultados: Participaram das entrevistas seis (n=6) sujeitos, faixa etária entre 28 e 54 anos, a maioria (n=05) do gênero feminino, com escolaridade de ensino médio incompleto e de profissões variadas. Os depoimentos evidenciaram: retorno ao trabalho para a mesma função, desrespeito às restrições/limitações físicas; ressurgimento de sintomas dolorosos; medo e risco da demissão; sentimentos de incapacidade e a importância de um apoio familiar. Conclusão: O processo de retorno ao trabalho requer a atuação de equipes multiprofissionais e ações interdisciplinares.
