Percepção de puérperas sobre o seu desempenho ocupacional no pós-operatório da cesariana/Mothers perception on occupational performance following a caesarean section

Introdução: Na assistência obstétrica, dentre as vias de nascimento, a cesárea é empregada quando a cirurgia se torna indispensável para reduzir complicações e preservar a vida da mãe e do neonato, no entanto, sua recuperação pode ser mais vagarosa, marcada por um período de maior vulnerabilidade a intercorrências e limitações, embora temporárias, sobre o desempenho ocupacional. Acredita-se que o discurso da mulher que vivencia seu pós-operatório possibilita uma maior visibilidade e campo de possibilidades para intervenções em saúde, visando melhoria na qualidade de vida. Objetivo: Analisar a percepção de puérperas no pós-operatório da cesariana quanto ao seu desempenho nas atividades de vida diária (AVD) e nos cuidados com o bebê. Método: Estudo transversal, descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa, realizado no alojamento conjunto de um hospital-escola em Recife/PE, com 15 mulheres no pós-operatório de cesariana, a partir do uso de uma entrevista semiestruturada e o método de análise de conteúdo usado para a formação das categorias temáticas. Resultados: Após análise das entrevistas, foi possível construir as categorias relacionadas aos aspectos de “Desempenho nas atividades de vida diária”, “Cuidados com o bebê”, “Rede de apoio” e “Parto Normal ou Cesariana – Fatores de influência nas percepções das mulheres”. Conclusão: Foi verificado entre as mulheres que a dor e dificuldades no retorno das atividades habituais, bem como o apoio de pessoas na recuperação após a cesárea, foram os itens mais citados no puerpério imediato, porém, tomam características distintas, a partir das expectativas geradas e técnicas de enfrentamento por cada mulher, de acordo com seu contexto social e cultural.
