Objetivo: La temática respecto al género ha sido un tema poco abordado en la terapia ocupacional (TO) y menos desde la perspectiva del y la terapeuta ocupacional. Por ello el propósito de esta investigación fue analizar la percepción respecto a la construcción de género en la vida cotidiana de un grupo de estudiantes de V año de TO. Metodología: La metodología empleada fue cualitativa y se llevó a cabo por medio de un grupo de discusión en torno a materiales audiovisuales y escritos presentes en la vida cotidiana de las y los estudiantes. Resultados: Se identificaron diferentes elementos en el discurso, como figuras de representación, objetos socializadores, mandatos sociales y estereotipos automatizados. Conclusion: Se discute sobre la importancia de incluir reflexiones sobre la construcción del género en el proceso formativo de las y los estudiantes de TO, con el fin de evitar la perpetuación de formas tradicionales y patriarcales de relación, lo que se refleja en los distintos espacios de la vida cotidiana de las personas: desde su vida privada hasta su quehacer profesional.
