Intervenção em Terapia Ocupacional junto a uma criança com necessidades especiais
Abstract
Este trabalho propõe-se a relatar uma experiência da Terapia Ocupacional junto a uma criança portadora de mielomeningocele e hidrocefalia. Nesta proposta é feita uma descrição das estratégias de intervenção (baseada numa perspectiva sistêmica) utilizadas pelo Terapeuta Ocupacional, que permite o exame das relações que ocorrem entre a família e o terapeuta, nessa situação. Os resultados evidenciaram, ao longo das sessões, maior freqüência dos contatos entre mãe-terapeuta e uma diversidade de temas relativos à vida da criança, trazidos pela mãe. Demonstraram ainda que o plano de trabalho, previamente planejado em Terapia Ocupacional com objetivos de promoção da independência da criança na esfera motora, o preparo para sua inserção social no ambiente escolar e a aquisição de habilidades básicas, avançou à medida em que houve uma somatória de ações (terapeuta e mãe) dentro da mesma meta. Finalmente são discutidos aspectos da qualidade de vida desta criança e de sua família – destacando-se a relação de ajuda e comunicação durante o processo terapêutico. Os resultados alcançados permitem (re)afirmar a importância da relação terapêutica com os responsáveis pela criança considerando as situações estressoras pelas quais a família pode passar e o acompanhamento efetivo das ações que fornecem as bases para a inserção social e promovem o “empowerment”.
