Aproximaciones a las practicas de terapia ocupacional y su relación con algunos principios éticos de los derechos humanos/Approaches to the practices of occupational therapy and its relationship with some human rights ethical principles

Este artículo presenta los principales resultados de un estudio cuyo objetivo fue analizar la relación entre las prácticas de Terapia Ocupacional y tres de los principios éticos o valores de los Derechos Humanos: autonomía, dignidad e igualdad, a partir de la experiencia de los y las terapeutas ocupacionales de la ciudad de Concepción en Chile. La metodología de investigación utilizada es cualitativa, con un enfoque hermenéutico dialéctico. Participaron en el estudio once terapeutas ocupacionales de ambos sexos. Los cuales se desempeñan en el ámbito de la salud, educación y justicia. La información se produjo realizando entrevistas semiestructuradas a dos de ellos, y en un grupo de discusión en el cual participaron nueve terapeutas ocupacionales. Las categorías se analizaron a través de análisis del discurso. Los resultados principales indican que los facilitadores para materializar los principios éticos de los derechos humanos se encuentran en la intencionalidad y el desarrollo incipiente de la conciencia ocupacional a nivel disciplinar. La mayor dificultad se encuentra en las condiciones materiales y simbólicas que genera el modelo capitalista neoliberal en los espacios institucionales de prácticas. El desafío es promover la asociatividad entre los actores involucrados en los procesos de intervención, así como fomentar el rescate de valores colectivos en las prácticas disciplinares.
