A VIDA COTIDIANA E A QUALIDADE DE VIDA DE PACIENTES
Abstract
As doenças crônicas são as maiores causas de incapacidade e morte no Brasil,
especialmente nas faixas etárias a partir dos 50 anos de idade, constituindo-se
em crescente sobrecarga social e de saúde comunitária. Muitas dessas doenças
crônicas, como Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica (HAS) e Diabetes Mellitus (DM),
estão relacionadas com a presença de fatores de risco associados ao estilo de
vida. Com isso, toda a equipe de saúde, em especial na Atenção Básica, deve
prestar sua contribuição ao controle desses fatores, controle este que implica a
modificação de hábitos, rotinas e papéis ocupacionais. Em vista disso, dentro da
atenção básica na cidade de Ribeirão Preto, em 1993 foi implantado o Programa
de Aprimoramento Multiprofissional em HAS e DM da Secretaria Municipal da
Saúde, visando realizar um trabalho não só multiprofissional, mas também
transdisciplinar. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi investigar a qualidade de vida
e a vida cotidiana dos pacientes que frequentam assiduamente o grupo de
prevenção do Programa de Aprimoramento Multiprofissional em HAS e DM deste
município. Assim, utilizaram-se o instrumento SF-36, pesquisa em saúde, para
avaliar a qualidade de vida, e uma entrevista sobre dificuldades na vida cotidiana,
elaborada para tal finalidade. Os resultados mostraram, por parte dos participantes
do grupo, boa percepção quanto à qualidade de vida e índices satisfatórios para
a realização das atividades do cotidiano. Concluiu-se que esse trabalho em grupo
transdisciplinar de promoção à saúde na atenção básica, com pacientes
hipertensos e diabéticos, tem contribuído não apenas para que estes consigam
se adaptar às mudanças decorrentes da doença, mas sobretudo no sentido de
possibilitar-lhes a construção de um envelhecimento saudável.
