ESTUDO DO USO DE SOFTWARES E RECURSOS DE ACESSO AO COMPUTUTADOR PARA PACIENTES COM DISTROFIA MUSCULAR DE DUCHENNE
Abstract
O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a aplicabilidade de softwares e periféricos de acesso ao computador para pacientes com distrofia muscular de Duchenne (DMD). Foram avaliados 11 pacientes com diagnóstico de DMD com queixas funcionais para uso do computador. A primeira etapa foi a seleção dos softwares e periféricos com base nas características físicas dos membros superiores desses pacientes e também na condição de baixo custo desses programas. Na segunda etapa aplicaram-se os softwares selecionados aos sujeitos, com avaliação por meio de teste de destreza e mensuração da satisfação do paciente, considerando a escala Likert - de 0 a 100%, durante quatro semanas.
Por fim foram levantados dados referentes à média de tempo semanal que o paciente utilizava computador. Sete pacientes com DMD que finalizaram o estudo utilizavam o computador por meio do sistema de teclado virtual (TV) do Windows há pelo menos dois anos, todos utilizavam cadeira de rodas com sistema de adequação postural e apresentavam significativo comprometimento físico e funcional dos membros superiores, com média de força em membro dominante de 0,4kg/f. Foram selecionados três softwares para acesso ao computador e um joystick de jogos eletrônicos. Não foi encontrada, neste trabalho, correlação entre satisfação e destreza nos softwares testados, contudo demonstrou-se que os recursos avaliados possuem potencial de aplicabilidade para este perfil populacional.
