A acessibilidade do ambiente influencia na qualidade da realização das atividades desenvolvidas pelos sujeitos no seu cotidiano com autonomia e independência e ainda garante a igualdade do direito de ir e vir. Objetivou-se
avaliar as vagas para pessoas com deficiência em agências bancárias no município de Uberaba, MG, analisando se estão de acordo com a norma técnica vigente sobre acessibilidade. O estudo caracteriza-se por ser uma pesquisa quantitativa, com amostra constituída pelas agências bancárias estabelecidas na cidade. Foi utilizado para coleta de dados um formulário com nove questões para serem preenchidas de acordo com a observação do espaço – vaga de estacionamento externa à agência. Os dados foram tratados através da técnica de análise de conteúdo, apontando como resultado quatro categorias, de acordo com as verificações realizadas, a saber: (i) sinalização, (ii) vagas, (iii) rota acessível e (iv) outros elementos. Foram elencadas 37 instituições bancárias, sendo oito excluídas por não preencherem os critérios de inclusão. Das 29 agências bancárias, apenas nove possuíam vaga reservada para pessoa com deficiência e, dessas, seis se encontravam adequadas.
