Abstract
O presente artigo tem por objetivo apontar as possibilidades de atuação da Terapia Ocupacional no processo de inclusão social/escolar de crianças com necessidades educacionais especiais. Primeiramente, faz-se referência à mudança do antigo modelo de integração social para o atual modelo de inclusão, pautado nos recentes conceitos que o definem e em suas implicações para o sistema escolar e social. Em seguida, fundamenta-se a abordagem terapêutica ocupacional na interface entre saúde e educação, e suas possibilidades de atuação no campo da consultoria colaborativa baseada na escola. A partir da leitura de artigos referentes ao tema, conclui-se que esse profissional tem contribuído, principalmente, como facilitador da relação entre escola, aluno e família, a fim de buscar soluções coletivas, ambientais e de apoio que viabilizam o processo de inclusão.
